BETEL LEAF OIL AS A NATURAL DISINFECTION AGENT IN RADIOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT (STUDY OF MICROBIAL QUANTITY OF RADIOGRAPHIC CASSETTE)

Background: Betel leaf oil is a wonderful natural antiseptic. rich in polyphenols, especially chavicol, which can be used to protect against microbe pathogens that cause infection. Purpose: To determine effectiveness betel as disinfection on Method: Quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test design designs was carried out by calculating number microbes, including Total Plate Count (TPC), Staphylococcus, study 12 conventional cassettes calculated swab method before after cleaning oil. data were analyzed descriptively illustrate rate decline. Result: results showed percentage decline cleaned ALT (17.8%), Staphylococcus (57.41%), fungi (37.21%). Conclusion: alternative cassettes, quite effectively suppressing activity microbes present.
